Bureau Veritas new Rule Note NR 557, High-Voltage Shore Connection System, covers design principles, installation requirements and testing procedures of high voltage installations used as a shore supply by vessels alongside a quay. Connecting ships to shore power eliminates virtually all emissions from the ships while they are docked at a berth. |

Bureau Veritas has been granted definitive approval as a Designated Auditor for the certification of Maritime Training Institute by the Maltese authorities. This is in line with STCW and the future requirements of MLC 2006. Bureau Veritas Marine can now provide certification service to Maritime Training Institutes worldwide which wish to be recognised by the Maltese Register. Bureau Veritas Malta has already certified two local maritime training institutes and is currently working on its third. |

Greece's Attica Group ordered two ro-pax ferries at Korea's DSME for the Greek island trades. They will be delivered in summer 2011 and 2012. They will join Attica's Blue Star Ferries which already operates three modern ferries built at DSME with BV Class. With an overall length of 145.5m and a service speed of 26 knots, they will have a maximum passenger capacity of 2,400 and carry 450 private cars or 50 trucks and 150 cars. |

Συμβόλαιο Συνεργασίας Επιθεώρησης κατασκευής του Αυτοκινητοδρόμου Ελευσίνας/Κορίνθου/Πατρών/Πύργου/Τσακώνα Το Bureau Veritas Hellas και το Apion Kleos Construction Joint Venture (ΑΚΤΩΡ, ΑΘΗΝΑ ΑΤΕ, J&P ΑΒΑΞ, VINCI CONSTRUCTION, HOCHTIEF) υπέγραψαν συμβόλαιο συνεργασίας για την επίβλεψη της κατασκευής του αυτοκινητόδρομου Ελευσίνα-Κόρινθος-Πάτρα-Πύργος-Τσακώνα. Το συνολικό μήκος του έργου είναι 365,4 χλμ., η διάρκεια της κατασκευής είναι έξι (6) έτη και η αξία του ανέρχεται στα 2,8 δις ευρώ. |
